Kasa Café was founded by the café's founder in Fitzrovia, London. Pearl Lemon's involvement appears in contemporary 2023 communications and a dedicated Kasa brand and marketing strategy, rather than being inferred from the café's later public success.

The strategy set out an inviting neighbourhood identity for people working, studying and living nearby. It explored warm design cues, food and coffee positioning, local partnerships, opening communications, loyalty concepts and customer feedback. These ideas were proposed to support the founder's vision; the final operating business remained hers.

Pearl Lemon's records also show practical work beyond a brand deck. Correspondence discusses advice on display cases, fridges, an ice maker, a panini press, fit-out sourcing and build coordination. Some items were purchased directly by the founder or chosen from other providers. We describe the team's advice and sourcing role, not ownership of every procurement decision.

In June 2023, Pearl Lemon team members were named alongside the founder in correspondence arranging customer focus-group sessions with the University of Westminster. That is evidence of involvement in research preparation. We are not claiming a measured research outcome without the underlying participant findings.

Kasa subsequently became a functioning café at 150 New Cavendish Street, independently profiled by Imperial Business School. The feature documents the founder's founding journey and her own work building the business. That external article corroborates the venue and founder, but it does not verify Pearl Lemon's exact contractual scope.

For prospective founders, Kasa illustrates why brand positioning, customer research, equipment, build choices and launch tasks need to connect. It also illustrates why good case studies distinguish a consultant's role from the work done by the client and by other project contributors.

    Work behind the story

What the team actually worked through

    STAGE 1

    Brand and positioning

The written Kasa strategy considered Fitzrovia demand, community positioning, coffee product differentiation and opening communications. Recommendations are not represented as completed works.

    STAGE 2

    Research and product decisions

2023 messages record research coordination, equipment choices and consultations concerning refrigeration, display units and fit-out suppliers.

    STAGE 3

    Scope and handover lessons

The historical engagement highlighted the importance of agreeing precisely who is responsible for purchasing, contractor decisions and cost approvals. The published account does not claim the founder endorsed the service.

    What the records actually establish

Dated internal records and external sources are distinguished below. An independent listing can verify the venue, but does not independently verify consulting outcomes or imply client approval.

    1. 2023 — direct consulting outputs

A dedicated Kasa positioning document, visual direction and training-process outline were prepared. 2023 correspondence also records equipment discussions and marketing planning. These are evidence of work, not evidence of founder satisfaction.

    2. 2023 — commercial engagement evidence

Private payment and project correspondence in the firm's historical records corroborate a commercial relationship. Amounts, customer correspondence and account details are not published.

    3. 2024 — official local authority record

Westminster’s public licensing agenda identifies a Kasa Café application at 150 New Cavendish Street. It is an independent record of the premises and the application, not proof that our team obtained the licence.

    4. 2025 — independent founder coverage

Imperial Business School profiles Kasa’s evolution into a founder/community-oriented venue. Credit for that story belongs to the café’s founder; the article is not a testimonial for Pearl Lemon.

    Practical lessons for your project

    • Agree the boundaries of consulting, procurement and contractor responsibility before work starts.
    • Clarify whether project fees, percentage-based purchasing charges and other costs overlap.
    • Keep client approvals and actual purchases separate from recommendations.
    • A documented project is evidence of experience, not necessarily a satisfied-client testimonial.

Role and evidence: Documented advice and coordination; client approval is not implied.

What a prospective café owner should ask

Which parts of the Kasa project can Pearl Lemon substantiate?

The 2023 brand and marketing strategy, sourcing discussions and documented research coordination. We do not claim to have personally completed every contractor task or to have caused the café’s later independent success.

Does this case study mean Kasa endorses Pearl Lemon?

No. The venue name is retained for factual project identification, but the founder's identity is omitted and no endorsement, satisfaction score or testimonial is claimed.
